Job Summary:

The Roof Repairman is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial roofing systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of various roofing materials and techniques, along with the ability to diagnose and fix issues to ensure roofs are watertight and structurally sound.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Assessment:

Conduct thorough inspections of roofs to identify issues such as leaks, damaged shingles, or structural problems. Assess the extent of damage and determine the appropriate repair methods.

Repair and Maintenance:

Perform repairs on various roofing systems including asphalt shingles, metal roofs, tile roofs, and flat roofs. Tasks may include replacing damaged shingles, sealing leaks, fixing flashing, and repairing or replacing gutters.

Installation:

Assist with the installation of new roofing systems when needed, ensuring proper techniques and safety measures are followed.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines. Use proper safety equipment and techniques to prevent accidents and injuries while working at heights.

Customer Service:

Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues, repair processes, and any necessary follow-up. Provide high-quality service and maintain a professional demeanor.

Documentation:

Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job. Report any additional issues or recommendations to management.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain and ensure the proper use of tools and equipment. Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to management. Needed tools for jobs will be provided.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience in roofing repair or construction is preferred. On-the-job training may be provided for candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Skills:

Knowledge of roofing materials and repair techniques. Ability to work with hand tools and power tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on ladders and roofs at various heights. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications or licenses may be required, depending on local regulations (e.g., contractor’s license, safety certifications).

Communication:
