Optical Technician/Assistant Job Description:

Ensuring our patients have the best experience is a priority. An Optometric Assistant is directly responsible for providing patient care while performing necessary pre-screening exams/testing. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task.

IMPORTANT

Must be able to work Saturdays.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills. Personable, enthusiastic, and empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns. Well-organized and attentive to detail. Able to work as a team member. Demonstrate computer literacy – Ongoing Training will be provided

Duties:

Checking in patients, pretesting patients, taking visual acuity, performing visual field testing, contact lens fitting, verifying insurance, reviewing benefits with the patient, front desk duties, answering phones, optical sales, taking measurements, taking payments, optical repairs, e-mail patient communication, office maintenance, and optical problem-solving.
