Job Description Our Unit Load Device (ULD) Repair Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of ULDs used for cargo transportation at the airport. This role involves routine inspections to identify damage or wear on ULDs, performing necessary repairs, and ensuring that ULDs comply with aviation regulations and safety standards. You will use specialized tools and equipment to repair ULDs, including welding, riveting, and replacement of components. Additionally, this position requires documenting repair activities, conducting load tests on ULDs, and coordinating with cargo handlers to ensure the availability of serviceable ULDs for cargo loading. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and safety of cargo transportation at the airport.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A ULD REPAIR TECHNICIAN
You like working as a team, toward a common goal Inspect and assess ULDs for damage: Conduct thorough examinations of unit load devices to identify repair needs Perform routine maintenance on

Use tools and equipment to fix issues such as dents, breaks, and malfunctioning parts Weld and fabricate parts as needed: Apply welding and metalworking skills to repair and reinforce ULD structures Follow technical manuals and repair guidelines: Adhere to manufacturer specifications and industry standards in repair processes You have a great attention to detail You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks Strong customer service skills Like to build long term relationships with your customers Physical activity may include: Stand and walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift 70 pounds or more Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years old Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents Previous experience in ULD repair or similar aircraft maintenance roles Knowledge of ULD types, construction, and repair methods Proficiency in using tools and equipment for ULD repairs Attention to detail and commitment to safety Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
