JOB DESCRIPTION JOB GOAL
Skilled work in the repair of playground equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited high school or trade school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Three (3) years’ experience in assembly, disassembly and repair of various size playground structures. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the practices, material, documentation, methods and tools utilized in the repair of playground equipment. Knowledge of the process of welding. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, sketch, or schedule form. Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform repairs of playground equipment compliant with the “American Standards for Testing and Measurement 1487” and the “Consumer Product Safety Commission.” Identify and order parts following District purchasing guidelines. Abide by all rules identified within the District Policies and Procedures and the Employee Work Rules. Operate vehicles in a safe and lawful manner. Use and maintain tools and equipment properly. Responsible for quality control. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Maintain accurate records of daily work and time and payroll information. Follow safety standards in performing work and report unsafe conditions to Lead/Manager in a timely manner. May be required to work after hours and/or weekends. Travel outside of Manatee County as required in the performance of duties. Perform related duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Heavy Work:
The employee is exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The employee frequently will work irregular or extended work hours while performing the duties of this job. Requires lifting, holding, carrying, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The noise level in the work environment can be high at times. Safety is the highest priority.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
