The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optical department. As an Optical Technician, you will assist in the preparation and fitting of eyewear, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and that patients receive the highest quality service. This position requires a strong understanding of optometry practices, medical terminology, and retail math. Responsibilities Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing instruments and equipment. Perform preliminary testing on patients, including visual acuity tests and lensometry. Accurately dispense eyewear, ensuring proper fit and comfort for patients. Maintain inventory of optical supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols within the office. Document patient information accurately in medical office systems. Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and streamline office operations. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge: Familiarity with optometry practices Understanding of medical terminology related to eye care. Knowledge of anatomy as it pertains to ocular health. Proficiency in retail math to assist with transactions and inventory management. Previous experience working in a optical retail environment is a plus.
