The role also includes assisting with projects, upgrades, new installations, and advanced services. This position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a small on-site team.
The work model for the role is: {onsite}You will be mainly accountable for:
Performing on-site ABB-prescribed preventive and corrective system maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of ABB 800xA QCS to maintain system performance to specifications.
Support installation of:
ABB 800xA QCS for Pulp & PaperNP1200 ScannerBasis Weight MeasurementHPIR-T Moisture MeasurementOptical Caliper MeasurementInstall
ABB MD/CD
Control Package, including:
Two ABB Slice XP Headbox Actuator arraysOne ABB SteamPlus XP(II) Profiling SteamboxSupport system interfacing with existing site processes and infrastructure.
Actively assist with projects, upgrades, new installations, and advanced customer services.
Build strong relationships with plant operators, management, and other stakeholders through regular interaction and on-site support.
Provide 24-hour emergency support (as part of a rotating team schedule) and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
Qualifications for the role
What You’ll Bring:
10+ years of experience in electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control (or equivalent military experience).Proven field service experience with ABB 800xA QCS.Strong troubleshooting skills, understanding of electrical safety, and proficiency with electrical test equipment.
Basic knowledge of the papermaking process and DCS programming is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
