Job Overview:

The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand’s CompressionSystems and Services Division serves customers by installing,troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotaryscrew and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors,along with additional compressed air system components. You willuse precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting ofcompressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledgeof all operations and parts manuals associated with allequipment.•

Responsibilities:

In addition to performing preventative maintenance on IngersollRand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact withcustomers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns.

Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gatheringparts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs.

All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and FieldService Technicians.

  • -Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customersand co-workers.
  • Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning andstart-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems
  • Including “hands-on” work to assure equipment operates tocustomer’s requirement with limited guidance from the MasterTechnician.
  • Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how IngersollRand products, services, and solutions, such as PreventativeMaintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefittheir operations.
  • Requirements:
  • 2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercialmechanical systems.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, butnot limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, LicenseSuspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smallerinfractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you willnot be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule.

This is shared with every service tech, and it requires beingavailable 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go tocustomer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks orgreater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiringmanager.

  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use ofhands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
  • It requiresemployees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line withthe safety policy.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Core Competencies:
  • -Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for allequipment.
  • Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X SeriesAutomation).
  • Basic vibration troubleshooting.
  • Basic Air Quality (system compressor/dryer
  • air treatment).
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and other basiccomputer usage.
  • Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.

e.

Smartphone, iPad) and network bases.

  • Maintain proper business travel practices in a cost-efficientmanner.
  • Preferences:
  • Industrial air compressor maintenance & knowledge.
  • EPA Certification.

  • Service Technicians will travel daily in a 3-hour radius withinour service area.
