Full Job Description Position Description Pay Grade:

Technician 4 The Hardware Specialist, under the direction of Director of Facility Management fixes electronic and door hardware such as locks, hinges, and door closures. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described. Assist Locksmith in all key functions within the key room, such as cutting keys, online request, and hardware equipment to ensure proper operations and compliance with handicap accessibility codes. Requires knowledge of techniques for installing new locks and hardware to include disassemble and replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts as needed. Make new keys, replace broken or lost keys. Design, implement and maintain preventive maintenance on all doors and equipment to include necessary adjustments or repairs. Service automatic doors to include frames, full power, and low energy swing door operators. Service manual door hardware to include panic devices, door closers, hinges, pivots, and locksets. Install new locks and door hardware as needed for new construction, renovation projects, breakage, etc. Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence with door hardware. Respond to routine and emergency calls for repair services to include after hours for the purpose of resolving safety/security concerns. Maintains appropriate service and repair records by using the work order system. Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and services after hours. Maintain parts inventory for service and maintenance compliance with industry standard

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to successfully negotiate various contract formats Ability to operate and navigate the College’s computer management system Excellent decision-making skills Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills Excellent conflict resolution and risk management skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations and policies Ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to develop schedules and meet deadlines Ability to work with a diverse group of people at all levels in the organization

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma One year of experience in related field Valid driver’s license with approval required by the College’s Liability Insurance Carrier Or an equivalent combination of education and expereince

Preferences:

Facilities-related service experience, including residential or commercial construction or related field(s)
