Full Job Description Core Function:

The Part-Time Field Service Technician manages an assigned service zone and assists in other zones as needed to ensure service calls are completed within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In addition to Level I duties, this position requires 2-3 years of experience and occasional support for fellow technicians in troubleshooting more complex issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage assigned service zone and provide support in adjacent zones to ensure service continuity and SLA compliance. Perform break/fix repair and hardware replacement for desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers, and network equipment. Assist fellow technicians with troubleshooting when needed. Maintain assigned inventory, including tracking inbound parts, returning defective or unused parts, and documenting all transactions. Operate and maintain personal vehicle if used for work purposes; maintain a clean driving record and vehicle condition. Utilize company’s web-based ticketing system to document service calls accurately, including call notes, equipment info, parts orders, and resolution details. Deliver high-quality customer service and represent Pomeroy’s standards and professionalism at every client interaction. Maintain strong documentation and administrative habits including accurate timekeeping, mileage logs, and service notes.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. A+/Net+/Server+ or similar certifications highly preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT break/fix service within a retail or office environment. Working knowledge of PC repair, POS systems, and basic network troubleshooting. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot down to sub-assembly level. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 15 ft, and operate from aerial lifts when necessary. Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) required if using a personal vehicle for work. Experience with industrial Fuji or Epson laser printers is a plus . Prior low-voltage cabling experience is preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills; must be organized, self-motivated, and dependable. Must be comfortable working independently and adapting to changing priorities.

Schedule & Employment Details:

Part-Time :

Flexible weekday schedule; may include occasional evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. Compensation based on experience. Mileage reimbursement provided when using personal vehicle. Paid training included.

Performance Expectations:

Technicians are evaluated based on: SLA and call response adherence. Customer service satisfaction. Inventory accuracy. Compliance with safety and operational procedures. Training completion and technical knowledge growth. Daily administrative and ticketing accuracy.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Frequent local travel to client sites. Work performed in office, retail, or light industrial settings. May require prolonged periods of standing, walking, and manual handling of IT equipment.
