Optical Technician Bedford Vision and Eye Clinic, PLLC 915 Colloredo Boulevard, Shelbyville, TN 37160 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care by assisting with the styling and fitting of exceptional eyewear. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, optical procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment. We are willing to train a highly motivated individual. Responsibilities Assist in the fitting and adjustment of eyewear for patients, ensuring proper alignment and comfort. Maintain accurate medical records, including patient history and treatment plans. Perform basic optical tests and measurements to support the optometrist. Handle medical billing and coding tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, promoting enhancements to better assist patients in achieving the best possible vision for their lifestyle. Stay updated on the latest advancements in optical technology and procedures. Skills Proficiency in medical terminology related to optics and eye care. Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance. Experience with medical coding and billing processes. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Crystal PM is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Sales skills to promote optical products effectively while ensuring patient satisfaction.
