We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled EDR Technician to join our team in South Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing on-site and remote vehicle Event Data Recorder (EDR) downloads, preserving critical crash data, and supporting clients with accurate and timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform EDR (black box) downloads from vehicles involved in collisions Use OEM and third-party tools/software to extract and preserve data Document chain of custody and ensure data integrity Prepare clear, accurate reports and summaries of findings Travel to various client sites, tow yards, and storage facilities as needed Communicate effectively with law firms, insurance companies, and law enforcement personnel Maintain and calibrate EDR tools and software Assist with other technical tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience with Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) systems or equivalent EDR tools Background in automotive electronics, crash investigation, or forensic technology is preferred Strong understanding of vehicle systems and diagnostic interfaces Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage field appointments Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to lift equipment and work in field conditions (hot weather, roadside environments, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
ASE Certification or similar technical credential Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
