We provide a wide range of geophysical testing and surveying services to the engineering, construction, geological and environmental communities. Utility Designation and Mapping is one of our core services. We’re a Florida-based company with strong local roots and a growing footprint. This position is focused on utility locating, but we’re also looking for someone who is ready to grow, continue learning, and eventually expand their skillset into other areas of our field services.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Utility Locating Specialist, you’ll be on the front lines of identifying and marking underground utilities before excavation and construction projects begin. You may be also responsible for documenting the study results using high-precision GPS. Your work is critical to protecting infrastructure, keeping crews safe, and ensuring project success.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Locating underground utilities using electromagnetic (EM) locators and ground penetrating radar (GPR)Interpreting utility records, 811 tickets, and construction plansAccurately marking utilities in the field with paint and flagsUsing GPS to document resultsDocumenting and reporting findings clearly and thoroughlyPerforming site assessments to identify risks or conflictsCommunicating with clients, contractors, and project managersMaintaining all tools, equipment, and company vehicleFollowing all safety procedures and site protocolsWhat You’ll Need to

SucceedMinimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED (trade or tech school a plus)Minimum 2 years of experience in utility locating (811, private locating, or related work)Familiarity with underground utility systems and construction methodsAbility to read and interpret utility maps, as-builts, and site drawingsStrong communication and customer service skillsPhysically able to work outdoors in all conditions and lift up to 50 lbsWilling to travel daily to job sites; occasional overnight work may be requiredValid driver’s license with clean recordAble to pass background checks for secure facility accessWilling to obtain industry certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/40, Substation Entry, etc.)CDL is a plusSpanish/English bilingual is a plusWhat Will Set You ApartA proactive, detail-oriented work style and a strong sense of ownershipSolid problem-solving skills and situational awareness in the fieldExperience using high-end locating tools (multi-frequency locators, GPR, GPS mapping systems)Interest in growing your career and learning additional technical servicesCommitment to representing GeoView’s core values and reputation in the fieldTypes of Projects You’ll Work OnOur Utility Locating Specialists support a wide range of projects including:
