About This Position The Telecom Technician serves as the primary interface for facility system inquiries including tracking and managing inmate inquiries, complaints and responses. This position also repairs or replaces broken telephone sets and provides a weekly update of phone system status, repairs made and any open items. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Provide Administrative and Technical Support to the Jail
Interact in a professional manner with customers (inmates and staff) to foster positive relationships
Maintain hardware and perform repairs on ICS products and services (inmate phones/video visitation systems)
Use the software to troubleshoot and provide reports when needed
Create trouble tickets and track repair/equipment requests
Perform routine maintenance and emergency onsite support
Maintenance and Repair:
Operating, maintaining, and repairing damaged or malfunctioning telecommunications lines and equipment.
Testing:
Testing telecommunications lines and devices to ensure proper functionality.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving issues with telecommunications systems.
Customer Education:
Explaining the use and maintenance of equipment to customers.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining records of repairs, and maintenance activities. What You’ll Need High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Self-motivated, able to work independently
MS Office Suite proficient
Self-starting, able to self-train on communications-based product line
Must have strong attention to detail and record keeping skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Open to working in a correctional environment
