Installation, repair, and maintenance of public safety/industrial RF communications systems and radio dispatch centers located in Baton Rouge/New Orleans Louisiana region. Applicant must have a working knowledge of analog FM and Project-25 digital radio system installation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance. Position requires on-call 24/7 service support, and the ability to respond to client service needs as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Applicant must be able to perform unsupervised tasks using technical documentation and radio/IP test equipment. Applicant must possess the knowledge and experience to install, evaluate, and maintain a variety of RF systems; complete company-required documentation; and the completion of equipment repair service logs in a clear and timely manner. Applicant should provide examples of one’s understanding of technology and willingness to adapt to emerging technology trends. All other duties as assigned. In addition, applicant must possess specific working knowledge and personal skills in the following areas: Collaborate with Team Leaders and others as needed, with focus on exceeding customers unique needs and concerns. Maintain, test, operate various brands and models of public safety radio base stations, antenna subsystems, and digital microwave backhaul communications. Knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) and must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance of such systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges. Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics; provisioning of communication system infrastructure; and performance optimization of RF and related architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 voice and data infrastructures. Perform routine maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and ability to troubleshoot and resolve system/application related issues. Install, test, repair, and maintain public safety/industrial radio base stations, antenna systems, and related land mobile radio equipment. Ability to identify and resolve technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades, or support functions. Support Company engineering, project management, and sales personnel on technical service matters, as needed. Possess familiarity with IP and T1/PCM digital technology. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Maintain assigned vehicle inventory and stewardship of assigned vehicle maintenance. Qualifications This position requires the skills and knowledge normally obtained through the successful completion of a higher-level education or equivalent (technical school and/or military RF systems training). Must be initiative-taking and appropriately organized to perform the required duties at a distance from direct Company supervision. Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations. Must have no less than 5 years’ experience with analog and Project-25 radio technology, involving base stations, mobile/portable radio units and software programming of equipment. Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems and networking equipment/systems is desired. Must have strong self-management and “people” skills as the successful applicant must collaborate closely with customers and subcontractors, as well as Company sales, engineering, project management, and service professionals. Technical degree or certification(s) is desired. Ability to lift 70 pounds and move heavy equipment. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a clean driver’s record.
