SUMMARY OF POSITION
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the school system’s telecommunication networks, which can include telephones, Internet, cameras, and wiring.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or state-issued high school equivalency credential (i.e., GED, HiSET, TASC); Four (4) years of experience in a comparable field; Possession of a valid driver’s license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other additional duties/responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent may be assigned.
- Responds to work orders in a timely manner to make needed and often difficult repairs of assigned telecommunications equipment.
- Receives and resolves all complaints regarding telecommunications equipment with the school district.
- Remains up-to-date on the latest technologies and practices in the area of telecommunications and local area networking.
- Monitors all telecommunications equipment, environments, and systems, including periodical systems testing, repairs and maintenance.
- Observes telecommunications equipment to diagnose problems; recommends upgrades or replacement on equipment as needed; determines repairs needed, estimates the cost of part
