This segmentis classified into two main product groupings – carrier network andenterprise network. The carrier network product group consistsprimarily of products and solutions for optical-basedcommunications infrastructure for services such as video, data andvoice communications. The enterprise network product group consistsprimarily of optical-based communication networks sold tobusinesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope ofPosition:

Field Engineers provide on-site and remote technicalassistance globally to both internal and external customers, andsupport field projects, training classes, corporate ownedmanufacturing facilities, Product Line Management, and CommercialSales and Marketing.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of ScienceDegree in a technical field, Physics, Math, Computer Science, orsimilar subject areas from a recognized college or university.(Engineering degrees in; Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil,or similar subject areas preferred).
  • 2-4 years of work experiencerequired.
  • Demonstrate the ability to discern colors accurately, avital skill for this role.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously,work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professional demeanor at alltimes.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Technical writing ability, withemphasis on effective presentation of detailed concepts.
  • Knowledge of construction and project planning procedures.
  • Somerelated work experience and/or military background intelecommunications.
  • Prior supervisory / functional managementexperience – or – training.
  • Fluent Language Skills in Spanish,French or Portuguese (written and spoken) a plus.

Day to

DayResponsibilities:
  • Master optical test and splice equipment andprocedures required to perform work youre leading.
  • Travel tocustomer sites to install, test, and document fiber opticcommunication systems.
  • Perform as a Project Leader with theresponsibility for coordinating and executing all facets of a fiberoptic network installation.
  • Instruct fiber optic training coursesat various Corning locations, regional locations, and at customersites.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal and externalcustomers via the Technical Support Line.
Travel Requirements:
  • Upto 60%.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. Therange for this position is $67,558.00 – $92,892.00 assuming fulltime status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependenton a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited togeographic location, market demands, experience, training, andeducation.
