Position Overview
Beacon Hill is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Services Technician to join our client’s team. This role will primarily support cabling projects and client infrastructure at various customer locations throughout the greater Charlotte area, with some travel to other states as needed. You will be a critical part of the technical operations team, supporting installations and maintenance of structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cable.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic)
Troubleshoot, maintain, and support network cabling systems
Work independently or as part of a small team on job sites
Travel to client locations daily (mainly in the Charlotte area)
Occasional overnight trips (up to 10 days per trip)
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with installation standards
Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Must-Have Qualifications:

Hands-on experience installing and terminating Cat5, Cat6, and fiber cabling
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
Comfortable working independently at job sites
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Willingness to travel 20-50%, including out-of-state assignments
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Work Environment & Team:

Work is performed at client sites, typically on a solo basis
Team of 3 technicians with direct oversight from the manager, who is currently hands-on due to high workload
