Duties, Responsibilities & Other:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities•: The Field Technician 2 is responsible for performing technical tasks in the field with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. This role involves working closely with team members, clients, and supervisors to ensure that all project requirements are met in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and KCI policies. The Field Technician 2 will actively participate in cross-training opportunities to build a stronger team, communicate workflow needs, and learn from senior level technicians. Installing cabling Inside Plant and Outside Plant; pulling wire in conduit, placing cable in ceiling and floor system zones, terminating cable both copper and fiber optic. Installing cable tray, communications racks and grounding systems. Lacing cables and knowledge of industry standards. No Telecommunications experience required. Low voltage cable pulling and labeling experience helpful. Must be able to lift 70 pounds continuously. Must be able to work on a ladder all day. Must be able to take direction and have the desire to learn the communications trade. Knowledge of tool use and experience using hand tools. Mechanical aptitude is desired. Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation is required. Shifts and/or overtime may be required. Some travel maybe required A current Driver’s License and able to be approved to drive a company vehicle •Must be able to lift 70 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions and climates. Must be willing to work evenings/weekends when required. Travel for overnight and extended stay projects are possible and should be expected.
