Water Field Technician I Craven County – 2.7 Neuse, NC Job Details Full-time $41,999 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description JOB Performs unskilled to semi-skilled work for the County Water Department installing, maintaining, and repairing water infrastructure.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responds to NC811 locate request: locate water lines, valves, hydrants, and services to prevent damage.
Completes Work Orders:
activation/termination of service, investigates leaks, troubleshoots possible reading errors.
Maintenance of Hydrants:
repairs hydrants as needed and keeps area around hydrants clear for proper visibility of Fire Departments and mowers. Actively participates in meter changeout program. This position requires going on emergency call a week at a time, every 5th to 6th week. Use locate equipment to locate Craven County fiber optic lines.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
May be required to serve during times of disaster.
May be required to assist Meter Readers or Water Plant Operators.
Performs other related work as required.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift 50 pounds and fulfill physical job requirements, as necessary.
