Job Description Help for Job Description. Job Description Help for Job Description. Overview Monitors and provides infrastructure support for voice and data communications equipment. Installs and maintains the voice and data wiring plant. Responsibilities
1. Assists in trouble shooting and resumption of processing for cable equipment and data communications equipment failures.
2. Provides proper documentation for plant management and keeps appropriate logs and files for cable plant.
3. Complete all cabling installations to meet EIA/TIA standards.
4. Completes all voice and data cable testing. Records and maintains cable test records.
5. Maintains the CATV network. Completes all television cable installations in accordance with industry standards. Completes television receiver repairs.
6. Diagnosing and correcting copper, optical fiber, and Coax problems.
7. Assists in the installation and repair of telephone services.
8. Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures.
9. Maintains the security of equipment, facilities and database.
