Responsibilities ACommunications Technician is a Journeyman having or obtaining withsix (6) months of assignment an FCC General RadiotelephoneOperators license or the equivalent to maintain microwave and radioequipment and the knowledge and ability to install, test andmaintain the communication equipment relating to the Company’sfacilities. They shall also be capable of installing, testing andmaintaining supervisory control, telemetering and data acquisitionequipment. Normally, they will work alone or with a SeniorCommunications Technician as the work requires and will beresponsible for a vehicle, tools and materials as supplied by theCompany. They may be capable and qualified to tow and operate aCompany furnished snow vehicle that would typically be pulled by apickup when necessary to perform their duties. Requirements

• Ahigh school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
• Must have, or obtaining within six (6) months, an FCClicense or equivalent certification to maintain microwave and otherradio equipment
• 3 years of experience as a CommunicationTechnician with experience in the responsibilities noted above.
• Good driving record.
• Pass a written and practical test.

Preferences

• Two-year college, technical degree or militarytraining in electronics.
• 5 years of experience as a CommunicationTechnician in the utility industry.
