Charleston SC Responsibilities:
Perform installation, integration, and commissioning of Nokia 7750 SR-series routers and Ciena 6500/8700/Packet-Optical platforms . Execute fiber testing (OTDR, power meter), router cabling, patching, and labeling. Load and verify router configurations; support service turn-up and validation. Conduct site surveys and prepare MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for equipment installs or upgrades. Work with NOC, transport teams, and project managers to support end-to-end network activations. Ensure documentation (as-builts, serials, power/fiber routing) is completed and submitted accurately. Maintain compliance with all safety standards and ESD guidelines on-site.
Required Skills & Experience:
2-5 years of field experience with Nokia 7750 SR-series routers (IP/MPLS) . Experience with Ciena platforms (especially 6500 series, WaveLogic, or Z-Series). Proficient in fiber and copper cabling, DC power systems, grounding, and racking. Skilled in CLI for Nokia and Ciena (basic configuration, troubleshooting). Familiarity with L2/L3 protocols, IP addressing, and SNMP-based monitoring. Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills. Willingness to travel frequently or relocate depending on project scope. Knowledge of DWDM, Ethernet Services, and transport path provisioning. Previous experience working with major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, or Lumen. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
