Positions Available Job Duties:
The End Point Technician II under supervision of the Senior Endpoint Technician for DTS Field Support Services, serves as coordinator for field and site support staff. Provides technical expertise in the management, maintenance, security and troubleshooting of end user data processing equipment as Tier 3 support. Advises agency management on the strategic use of technology to support agency mission and activities. Research and recommend upgrades and enhancements of client operating systems, applications and computing equipment to management. Coordinates Field Support Services staff (agency field technicians) by insuring use of established processes. Set schedules, priorities, and provide support and/or direction to Field Support Staff. Evaluate the work being done and provide training as necessary. Verify that DTS policies and procedures are being followed and enforced. Prioritize work loads and utilize personnel resources effectively. Ensure work orders are completed in a timely fashion in accordance with approved Service Level Agreement, with a minimum of re-work. Insure that regional coverage is provided in cases where regular regional staff may not be available. Serves as Tier 3 support for user issues as requested by regional lead techs. Coordinates with 3rd party contract managers to escalate on-site services as needed. This could include printer services, data wiring contractors, and any other 3rd party service providers. Assists in the creation and deployment of computer images by providing technical input and testing. Conduct post-installation studies and evaluations for new images and software deployments. Participate in evaluations of equipment and software packages and development of recommendations on technical solutions that meet the needs of users and the technical environment. Works in concert with the Help Desk manager to insure best practices are utilized for help desk processes. Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data. Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree and experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
