has an exciting opportunity as a Telecom Technician 1 at our Greystone location in Columbia, SC. Under general supervision, this fully competent role is responsible for moderately complex tasks typically relating to network monitoring operations, installation and/or maintenance. The incumbent will be assigned specific projects within an individual business unit. The Telecommunications Technician operates and maintains IT communications systems, including cabling (fiber and copper), PBX/phone lines, 2-way radio, network systems, UPS, and DC plant backup battery systems. Technician provides tier 2 Microwave tower support. Troubleshoots day to day communication issues. Telecom Technician 1:
Experience in network and telecommunications applications required. Basic knowledge of all areas of telecommunications. Ability to work on telecommunications systems and equipment. Ability to analyze trouble reports and perform maintenance of telecommunications equipment. Strong aptitude for technical understanding. Skills to communicate with various departments, internal groups, and external customer groups to perform work. Has awareness of customer requirements, with emphasis on major initiatives. Ability to set priorities and demonstrate timely and effective response to customer and team member needs. Understanding of business unit methods and processes within the realm of responsibility.
