Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Field Technician to support our team with data acquisition and site surveying across a variety of project sites. This position is ideal for those who enjoy hands-on work with cutting-edge technology and are willing to travel extensively to diverse locations. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive training to effectively operate our specialized equipment, including drones, laser scanners, and specialized cameras. As a Field Technician, you will play an integral role in data collection, site surveying, and project management, helping us deliver high-quality survey data to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Extensive Travel:
Conduct regular, extended travel assignments often lasting, but not limited to, 1-4 weeks at a time. Travel will be both domestic and, potentially, international. You’ll be responsible for adhering to travel logistics, including transportation and accommodation for various project sites.
Data Acquisition:
Operate a range of advanced equipment, including 3D cameras, 360 cameras, drones, and laser scanning systems, to capture high-resolution images and spatial data. Collect precise and accurate data that will be used in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
Site Survey Execution:
Follow detailed Scopes of Work (SOW) to ensure data is captured according to project specifications. Perform site-specific measurements, document data, and update project files with revisions as required.
Technical Communication:
Maintain clear and professional communication with on-site personnel, project managers, and internal teams to ensure coordination and alignment with project goals and deadlines.
Data Management:
Manage and process survey data, uploading collected data, performing document mark-ups, and ensuring proper integration of survey results into project management systems.
Required Qualifications:
21 years or older: This is due to travel-related conditions and driving requirements.
Physical Capability:
Must be able to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
Travel Flexibility:
Willingness to travel extensively, including both domestic and international, for extended periods of time.
Physical Endurance:
Ability to work on-site for long hours, including activities such as standing, crouching, climbing ladders, and other physical tasks.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Surveying & Scanning Experience:
Experience with conventional surveying techniques or laser scanning is a plus but not required. Familiarity with reality capture or related technology is highly advantageous.
Technical Aptitude:
Strong mechanical and technical skills, especially in electronics or computer systems, are desirable for maintaining equipment and troubleshooting in the field.
Drone Operation:
Possession of an FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot License is preferred, along with experience operating drones for photogrammetry, orthomosaic captures, or related applications.
Global Mobility:
A valid U.S. passport is required for potential international travel to various project locations.
Multilingual Abilities:
Proficiency in Spanish, French, or other languages is a plus for international projects.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Compensation:
$23.00 per hour for onsite work. $15.00 per hour for driving time.
Payment Structure:
Bi-weekly payments via direct deposit.
Travel Per Diem:
$55 per day for meals during travel assignments. Higher per diem rates are provided for high-impact areas.
Personal Vehicle Rate:
If opted into the personal car program, we offer a daily rate of $35 per day for the use of personal vehicles.
Paid Holidays:
Paid time off for holidays as part of the benefits package.
