•We are seeking a qualified Marine Service Technician for a high volume marine repair facility. We are a established marine service company, with over 30 years at the same location. We have a fleet of 7 service vehicles. We service all engines and are authorized dealers for Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo, Yanmar, and Cummins. On the generator side, we sell and service marine and residential generators and are authorized dealers for Kohler, Westerbeke, Onan, NextGen. We are seeking a service technician that is proficient in all areas of repair (engines, drives, inboard and outboard). IPS experience a plus. Electronics installation experience also a plus. A work van is provided. Personal tools are required. Must have documented experience working as a marine service technician on gas and/or diesel engines and generators. Experience with vessel systems, A/C, etc. preferred. Clean work environment and great work atmosphere. Salary is based on experience. Year round base salary guaranteed. DUTIES Troubleshoot and repair engines, drives, generators and other vessel systems Perform routine preventative maintenance Perform repair work including: Replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems Remove engines or outdrives Service ignition system, lights and instrument panel Troubleshoot, repair and install electrical accessories in boats including bilge pumps, charging systems, and steering systems, electronics etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have adequate tool inventory Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to handle physical workload, including working in warm/hot weather. If you have current certifications in Volvo, Kohler, and/or Yanmar, we will buy you out of your training contract.
