The role involves preparing and coating ship hulls, tanks, and steel structures to prevent corrosion and ensure long-term durability in harsh marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform abrasive blasting (sand, grit, or other media) on ship surfaces and steel structures Apply marine-grade coatings using airless spray, conventional spray, roller, or brush Operate blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently Inspect finished surfaces to ensure proper coverage and adhesion Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including confined space and respiratory protection protocols
Qualifications:
Experience in marine or shipyard blasting and painting is required Familiarity with coating specifications, surface prep grades, and marine paint systems (epoxy, zinc-rich primers, antifouling, etc.) Physically fit – able to lift, bend, and work in confined spaces or at heights Team player with strong attention to detail and safety focus Principals only.
