Equipment Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment within the boatyard, including forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, travel lifts, and other mechanical systems. The role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely to support daily operations in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, travel lifts, and other equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct diagnostics to identify malfunctions. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Monitor equipment performance and proactively recommend necessary repairs or replacements. Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as needed. Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working on equipment. Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Essential Skills Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, and travel lifts. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Desirable:

Work Environment Work is performed in a marine and industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions. May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stuart, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 – $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
