Position Summary:
Small Engine Sales & Repairs Associate Turner Ace Hardware has an immediate opening for a Small Engine Mechanic. The primary responsibilities of the position are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, diagnose and repair equipment, perform routine maintenance on equipment, manage warranty claims, and support the store management team. Major Responsibilities Sell, demonstrate, order and repair Stihl Outdoor power equipment and parts. Provides service, maintenance and repairs for all Stihl related products, as authorized by vendor, in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Determines parts needed, estimate labor and determine if repairs are covered under product warranty Provides regular updates to customers on issues regarding warranty coverage, service/repair delays, or availability of parts Provides excellent customer service by phone or in person Answers product questions and assists with customer purchases. Responds to customer requests accurately and efficiently on product orders, or information on products or services, including product usage, application, availability, vendor rebates, pricing, etc. Provide accurate, timely and high-quality repair services on all work orders Responsible for completing all warranty, service orders and special-order paperwork and processes in a timely manner Responsible for completing service work in a timely manner Maintains a safe, secure, clean and well-organized work environment including service area and all other associated areas per vendor and company guidelines Keep records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used Minimum Requirements Posses a vast product knowledge of hardware related products, including Stihl and other power equipment, along with a willingness to learn. Knowledge of operation and repair of small engines required Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers Previous experience in equipment/small engine repairs. Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus. A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements for this position include: Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders. Ability to stand for an extended period of time Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth.
