Outboard Motor / Marine Technician Human Capital Department Portland, ME Marine Mechanic – Outboard Technician We are currently looking for a skilled Outboard Technician to join our team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining outboard engines and related systems. Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain outboard engines, including Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, and Evinrude Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, fuel system inspections, and water pump replacements Troubleshoot electrical and fuel system issues Install new outboard motors and rigging components Repair and install steering systems, throttle controls, and related accessories Conduct engine performance testing and sea trials as needed Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards Communicate with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostics and repair recommendations —

Qualifications:

Experience as an outboard technician or marine mechanic Relevant certifications preferred Knowledge of outboard engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and rigging Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Familiarity with marine diagnostic tools and software Valid driver’s license Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Manufacturer certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, etc.) are an asset —
