Small Engine/2 Stroke/Lawn Equipment Mechanic/Technician Position Available In Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Purpose:

Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs andmaintenance work on customer, as well as dealer owned, turfequipment or other work as assigned by Supervisor. Some directionor guidance given from the Service Manager or senior technicians.

Responsibilities:

Performs basic diagnostics and repairs onconsumer, compact utility tractors and commercial turf equipmentParticipates in Service Training programs required for thedevelopment of skills and knowledge Maintains current knowledge ofJohn Deere and competitive products Maintains condition ofvehicles, inventory, tools and equipment (as assigned) Maintains aclean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing workassignments Completes all reports and forms required in conjunctionwith work assignments, including researching and requesting partsneeded Accounts for all time and all material used in performingassigned duties according to dealership processes and businesssystem Communicates professionally and effectively withManufacturers when needed Maintains 90% or above recoveryefficiency May perform diagnostics and repair in the field Mayprovide delivery services when needed This job description is notintended to be all inclusive and employee will also perform otherreasonable related business duties as assigned by immediatesupervisor or other leadership as required. Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required;Associates degree preferred

Experience:

1 years of experienceperforming service repairs, Experience with handheld equipment aplus

Skills:

Ability to perform basic repairs and requiredmaintenance using special tools and equipment following TechnicalManual procedures, Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electricaland hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment, Abilityto use Service Advisor and basic computer functions, Ability tooperate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes,Proficient oral and written communication skills, Ability to liftat least 75 lbs. repeatedly, Provide tools needed to perform jobduties (“Specialty tools” are owned & provided by dealership), Mayrequire valid insurable driver’s license, Good work ethic andattitude
