Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiberglass & Gelcoat Repair Technician to join our growing team. This role involves performing high-quality repairs on boats and marine vessels, including cosmetic and structural fiberglass work. You will be responsible for restoring damaged gelcoat, fixing scratches and gouges, and completing small to large-scale fiberglass repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and repair fiberglass and gelcoat damage, including scratches, gouges, cracks, chips, blisters, and delamination. Perform structural fiberglass repairs using proper lamination techniques and materials. Sand, grind, prep, and refinish gelcoat to achieve smooth, seamless surfaces. Accurately color match and blend gelcoat for invisible repairs. Operate power tools, sanders, spray equipment, and other related repair tools. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work both in-shop and on-site (mobile) as needed. Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding job progress and material needs.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in fiberglass and gelcoat repair required (marine industry preferred). Strong knowledge of resin systems, gelcoat application, and color matching techniques. Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair projects efficiently. Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Physical ability to perform sanding, grinding, and lifting materials. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
