Marine Service Technician American Boat Center 10250 Cogdill Road, Knoxville, TN 37932 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Boat Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Boat maintenance and repair, demonstrating both mechanical and electrical expertise. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the optimal performance of boats. The Boat Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other team members and management to provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of boats using appropriate tools and techniques. Perform routine boat maintenance, including tune ups, oil changes, impeller changes, fuel filters etc. . Troubleshoot and repair outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines. Assemble components as needed for repairs. Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Assist in heavy lifting of boat parts or equipment as required. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various boat systems. At least 2 years of marine experience is required. In-depth knowledge of different types of marine engines, electrical systems, and diagnostics. Experience in assembling parts and components for boats Competence in operating power tools safely. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as necessary for repairs or maintenance activities. Previous experience in boat maintenance is preferred, along with a solid understanding of marine systems.
