Permanent The Wheel Repair Technician functions as a skilled technician using tools and techniques to restore wheels and wheel covers
Key Responsibilities:
Performs repair work as outlined related to wheel repair and restoration, including cosmetic damages (curb and road rash, peeling, scrapes, gouges, oxidation and bent wheels). Paints surfaces, inspect wheels, prep and buff defects, mix colors and finish. Mount and balance tires as needed. Communicate with service & parts departments when required Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Maintains and is accountable for spray machine and all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management What we need from you: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum three years of related experience and/or training in alloy wheel repair. Valid driver license and clean driving record. Flexibility to work various hours and weekends. Ability to work in outdoor environments. Automotive Painting experience is a plus.
