Driver’s License Telecommunication NWSA Telecommunications Tower Technician 1 (TTT-1) Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description The Tower Tech I must be willing to develop an understanding with all aspects of the Wireless Industry. The person in this position will be expected to share the responsibility of the team’s production and guide by example for all aspects of work including safety, rigging, installation, quality regarding workmanship to his peers. Have a developing understanding to identify existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employee. This person must be co-responsible for high quality completion of site work. Aid in identifying change orders, possible obstacles and safety concerns which may delay site completion or be a hazard to the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The below describes day to day functions for this position but does not limit tasks assigned. Supervisors can add or remove job tasks as needed within reason and skill set of employees. Follow the example of their peers to insure success of the tower crews. Work with supervisor, safety and training team to develop his understanding of work detail to reach a high level of understanding and completion. Develop reading CD’s/ Blue prints, RFDS etc. Learn and understand quality and safety procedures. Learn and understand Capstan operations, Crane/signaling, Rigging, Steal work (hanging boom, antenna etc.) and shoot azimuths. (Front, Back and Side) All crew tools equipment and vehicles are expected to be cared for as part of a daily process. Participate and sign all required daily and weekly paperwork. (JSA, Weekly safety topics, crane/heavy machinery forms etc.) Develop and understanding of COP process including photos, forms, etc. and delivery to appropriate team supervisor for customer delivery. Develop and understanding level of knowledge with testing equipment -Anritsu, Fiber tester, PIM, RET etc. Maintain all company and customer property in a safe and secure manner while on and off the site.
Qualifications:
Minimum 0 mo.- 9 mo. Tower and Telecommunications Experience Required. Technical Understanding/Ability Desire to Succeed and Learn New Skills. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams. Strong attention to detail Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Always Follow all OSHA required Safety rules.
- Follow all company policy safety and code of conduct rules.
- Operate within the limitations of their training and experience.
- Shall not engage in unsafe act.
- Attend and participate in all safety meeting and trainings.
- Use all prescribed, manufacturer safety equipment/ protection devices as required.
- Report any and all unsafe acts, near misses, incidents and accidents to their supervisor as expected per company policy.
- Shall lead by example in Safety, Quality and Leadership as a positive role model.
- Operate company vehicle in accordance to state DOT and Driving regulation(s)
Physical Requirements:
Day to day functions: Strong attention to detail Climbing/ working at heights over 50′ Lifting to 75 lbs. Lifting above 75 lbs. will require two persons lifting or lifting devices for safety and to prevent injury. Sit for long periods while driving to site. Standing/walking during construction for long periods of time Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously Learn to accurately complete detailed forms and reports. Learn to understand the importance of team working hours to stay with in P&L expectations as set by their supervisor. Learn how to calculate figures and amounts for the purpose of material and consumables needs. Travel may be required.
Work Environment:
Warehouse work to be expected from time to time and outside in all safe weather conditions. (lighting to be excluded)
