Perform tower construction activities including assembling/erecting towers, installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines. Work with basic hand tools and safety equipment. Telecom test gear knowledge a plus. Basic electronic knowledge Utilize PPE in compliance with EHS requirements and industry standards Assist with testing new and existing equipment. May include sweep, PIM, or fiber testing. Maintain OSHA safety requirements at all times with the ability to follow EHS procedures and protocol Installation of RF and antenna system components such as (antennas, TMA’s, RRU’s, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.) Understanding and ability to process RFDS and read and execute construction drawings. Perform routine and preventative maintenance Coordinate with other technicians and engineers to ensure proper system operation Valid driver’s license. Ability to take and understand written and verbal direction Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawing and support documentation, RF data sheets, and basic electrical concepts. be able to communicate both verbally and electronically. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail Hard working and self-motivated Ability to work at heights greater than 100 ft. Coordinate with other technicians and engineers to ensure proper system operation
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:
Ability to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions. Physically able to climb 1000 vertical feet per day Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of the metropolitan area. Desire and ability to climb structures to heights in excess of 300′ while carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds. Full-time, 40 hours/week. Overtime as needed. Travel is required 50% of the time Home most weekends
