$21.00/hour Are you dependable, safety-driven, and ready for a physical, fast-paced job with long-term potential? Road & Rail Services is looking for a dedicated Switchman/Conductor to join our team at the New Wales site near Mulberry, FL. This critical position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of railcars using locomotive power, ensuring our customers’ operations run smoothly and on time. This is an outdoor role that requires extensive walking, physical labor, and full exposure to all Florida weather conditions-heat, humidity, rain, or cold. Candidates must be prepared to work a rotating 2-step swing shift that may include weekends and irregular hours. Reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely switch and move railcars according to customer and site requirements Communicate effectively with crew members via radio or hand signals Inspect railcars, operate switches, and ensure equipment is positioned correctly Comply with all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times Maintain detailed logs and documentation of work performed
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Comfortable walking long distances, bending, twisting, and climbing throughout the shift Team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail Prior rail or industrial experience preferred, but not required At Road & Rail Services, we believe in taking care of the people who keep our operations running.
