Position Description
A traffic control laborer primary duties are to control traffic coming into and out of the job site. They are the men and women along roads and highways who help traffic keep flowing through a construction zone, despite a shutdown of lanes.
Position Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Perform flagging and other traffic control duties as required. Direct traffic flow safely around workers/construction zone.
Effective communicate with site workers to provide correct direction to motorists.
Record and report vehicle information of disobedient/unsafe drivers as needed.
Follow and adhere to all E.R. Snell and GDOT safety standards and guidelines in all traffic and construction zones.
Follow recommended methods and procedures set forth by supervisor for traffic maintenance operations.
Place barrels, signs, barricades, traffic cones, etc. as needed.
Remain observant of traffic and surroundings at all times.
Effectively communicate with co-workers to facilitate traffic movement.
Ability to work well as a team.
Job Qualifications:
Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
Class C Driver’s License preferred
Must be able to work nights and weekend as needed.
The above listed duties require long periods of standing, walking, stooping and bending. It requires an employee to climb a ladder when accessing equipment. Also requires periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold temperatures and in the rain. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
