Roads & Engineering Salary:
$17.33/Hr Under general supervision and instruction this position is responsible for participating in the repair and maintenance of county roads and infrastructure.
Qualifications/Knowledge:
High school diploma or GED, current valid driver’s license Must be at least 18 years of age Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred Knowledge of road construction and maintenance principles Knowledge of work safety principles and practices Skill in the use of hand and power tools Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations Ability to work in inclement weather conditions as necessary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates a variety of light equipment, machinery and tools in the maintenance and repair of county roads and drainage systems Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including chain saw, weed eater, blower, shovel, rake, limb saw, etc. Assists in traffic control at work sites Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections; preforms preventive maintenance Performs public works construction, maintenance and repair duties; replaces road signs, installs driveways, etc.; pours, spreads and levels asphalt, concrete and gravel Attends department meetings and training sessions Performs all other related duties as assigned Employment Applications will be accepted Until Filled on Troup County’s website @www.troupcountyga.gov/Employment/Jobs Job #: 02282025 Road Maintenance Worker Grade 10 Troup County is an Equal opportunity Employer –
