PM Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Transportation Technician 3 (TMC Tech III) to join our team in a dynamic traffic management center. This advanced technician role involves monitoring roadways from a control room setting to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic across the transportation network. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage both scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents using Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices and software.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate traffic management systems and software to monitor roadways and manage traffic incidents. Monitor traffic flow using surveillance cameras and detection systems. Identify and escalate complex issues to a supervisor as needed. Dispatch appropriate response units to traffic incidents promptly and efficiently. Maintain knowledge of traffic equipment, software, and regional roadways. Coordinate with multiple agencies (e.g., emergency responders, DOT crews) to manage incidents impacting regional travel. Monitor and troubleshoot traffic control devices and computer equipment. Maintain situational awareness and detailed incident documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Customer service experience (highly preferred). Dispatch or call center experience (highly preferred). Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures. Willingness to work early morning shifts and in a control room environment.

Additional Information:

This position requires working indoors in a secure, technology-focused control room. Candidate must be comfortable working with multiple monitors and systems simultaneously. Training will be provided; however, prior experience in traffic operations, emergency dispatch, or transportation systems is a strong plus. #TB_EN
