The Flagger will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. As a Flagger, you will be responsible for directing vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones while maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Duties Control traffic flow around construction sites using appropriate hand signals and signage. Communicate effectively with construction crews and motorists to ensure safety. Monitor the work area for potential hazards and report any issues immediately. Assist in setting up and taking down traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers. Coordinate with and or driving heavy equipment as an operator, including those operating dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, front loader trucks, graders, and other machinery. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols on the construction site. Provide utility locating support as needed to prevent damage to underground utilities. Qualifications Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus (e.g., machinery). Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts in varying weather conditions. Must be physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed. A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job site location.
