- $30 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications OSHA Industrial construction Mid-level Rigging Construction Communication skills Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Overhead Rigging Installer to join our team for the installation of overhead crane systems in Meriden CT.
This role involves working with structural columns, hoists, beams, and crane components to ensure proper and safe installation in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rigging and mechanical installation, with the ability to prepare, position, and move heavy materials and equipment using cranes and other lifting devices. This position requires a deep understanding of rigging techniques, load capacities, job site safety protocols, and signal communication to coordinate lifts and ensure job site safety. Monday

Responsibilities:
Installing entire overhead crane systems — including structural supports, runways, columns, hoists, trolleys, and electrical systems. Welding, bolting, anchoring, and assembling all crane components from the ground up. Performing post-installation testing and calibration. Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure safety and compliance. Safely attach loads to cranes or hoisting equipment using slings, shackles, chokers, and other rigging gear. Communicate clearly with crane operators using hand signals or radio communication. Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lift plans. Ensure proper placement and balance of loads to avoid shifting, tipping, or overloading. Work with crane operators, supervisors, and other crew members to execute lifts accurately and safely. Maintain cleanliness and organization of rigging gear and tools. Follow all site-specific and OSHA safety procedures and protocols. Assist in assembling and disassembling cranes and lifting devices when required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an overhead rigger in industrial or construction environments. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices related to rigging and crane operations. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
