Drop Bury Technician Position Available In Sarasota, Florida

Drop Bury Technician Utilities One Inc 4200 Doblins Road, North Port, FL 34287 As a Drop Bury Technician at UtilitiesOne INC., you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps homes and businesses connected. This hands-on position involves installing and burying low-voltage communication cables—such as coaxial, fiber optic, and phone lines—from utility pedestals or service points to customer locations. Your work directly supports the delivery of essential services like internet, cable TV, phone, and security systems. You’ll be responsible for evaluating job sites, planning optimal cable routes, and performing safe digging practices while avoiding existing underground utilities. The ideal candidate has experience with outdoor physical labor, understands 811 utility locating procedures, and can operate trenching tools and related equipment. Professional customer interaction, job site restoration, and accurate documentation through photos and digital logs are also part of the role. This is a field-based position that requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.

What You’ll Do:

Bury low-voltage communication cables (e.g., coaxial, fiber optic) from utility pedestals to customer properties Ensure proper burial depth and comply with all relevant safety codes and standards Locate and avoid existing underground utilities before performing any digging Restore job sites to their original or better condition upon completion Maintain accurate records of completed work, including photos, measurements, and notes Operate tools, vehicles, and small trenching equipment safely and efficiently Provide professional and respectful customer service at all times Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in cable or fiber installations White minivan or pickup truck ( required ) Own tools and equipment ( required ) Valid driver’s license and Social Security card , with a clean record Familiarity with utility locating (811) and safe digging practices Ability to operate trenching tools and interpret site maps CDL or experience with trenching equipment is a plus Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions limited spots available.
