JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Install, maintain and test all instrument transformer rated meters.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Test, verify and troubleshoot all System tie points.
Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
Install and monitor all load research equipment.
Prepare service orders, multiplier sheets, and associated paperwork for transformer rated meters.
Troubleshoot communications of remote metering.
Perform vector, load analysis and power factor tests on all metering installations.
Calculate meter constants on all types of installations.
Distribution Line outage restoration, such as scouting and refusing.
Lift, carry or transport up to 42lbs, climb ladders (extension ladders up to 25 feet), work in a bucket truck (up to approx 40 feet), and can pull, push, lift, crawl, kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum experience required of the position
Mechanic Meter Field I:
Prior utility field experience preferred.
Mech, Mechanic Field II:
Minimum 3+ years utility field experience required.
Senior Mechanic, Meter Field:
Minimum 5+ years utility field experience required. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude.
Must have competent computer skills.
Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills.
Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, vector I phase or relationship.
Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Must be customer oriented.
Must be able to work in industrial and petrochemical plants.
Must be a self-starter, dependable, can plan and organize daily activities. Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
