Field Service Technician/Overhead Crane Industry – Up to $35/hr, Charlotte, NC! 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Charlotte, NC 28273 Field Service Technician A leading manufacturer specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of overhead cranes and runway systems is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Charlotte and Statesville area of North Carolina. The company serves various industries, including steel, paper, injection molding, general contracting, municipalities, military bases, and other manufacturing sectors. This role involves limited overnight travel (3-4 days per month) and covers territories across North Carolina and South Carolina.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair services on cranes and hoists. Utilize advanced technology to relay key details from service calls to the office. Conduct detailed inspections to gather information for repair quotes. Ensure compliance with OSHA codes and industry guidelines for crane and hoist safety. Maintain and service company-issued equipment, including vehicles, trailers, lifts, and tools, ensuring they are in proper working order. Communicate with customers regarding any deficiencies found and advise on proper crane usage and safety practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance, with specific experience working on cranes and hoists preferred. Experience working with high-voltage (220V, 240V, 480V) systems and 3-phase motors is required. Strong mechanical and electrical skills are necessary for the role. An associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical systems or military technical training is preferred. Must be able to pass background checks for access to military, state, and federal facilities. Familiarity with general labor and construction related to crane systems is a plus. Ability to read electrical blueprints and use voltage meters is required. A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to meet company insurance requirements. Scissor lift and boom lift experience is preferred.
