The primary responsibilities include performing corrective and preventive maintenance work on 69kV transmission and distribution high-voltage lines and substations. Secondary duties involve assisting T&D substation electricians and relay technicians, water washing high-voltage system insulators, escorting high-load transports for safety, maintaining and repairing high-voltage transformers and circuit breakers, performing drill rig MV hookups and disconnects, performing safe-outs, and working with in-plant generation and control equipment at CPS EOA Power Plants, covering systems from 135VDC to 13.8KV. •This is a Union Represented Position•
Essential Job Responsibilities:
HV/MV, transmission, and distribution experience is required in this multi-skilled team Previous transmission/distribution experience Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) requirements and understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) Independently lift and carry tools, parts, supplies and equipment weighing upwards of 100 pounds on an occasional basis and upwards of 70 pounds on a frequent basis. Meet OSHA requirements and wear a full body harness and an anti-fall equipment with clothes, boots, hard hat and tools while not exceeding a weight greater than 310 pounds. Work in a variety of postures and positions throughout the work period to include kneeling, squatting, bending, prone or supine positions. Independently transition to and from the ground without the aid of a stationary object for support and sustain prolonged periods of standing, walking and crawling on steel grating, steel plates, ice, snow, gravel and mud. With or without reasonable accommodation; push/pull on wrenches, tools, carts, etc. requiring upwards of 150 foot pounds of force routinely climb stairs and ladders to extended heights work at extremes of heat and cold, and with dust and fumes Must be able to read and clearly understand electrical drawings, diagrams and schematics for all MV/HV line and substation equipment Excellent technical knowledge of high and medium voltage equipment, line work and substation equipment and apparatus Safely operate and properly use all T&D vehicles (CDL), equipment and tools Ability to organize multiple jobs and set priorities Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills Self-starter, able to work independently and solve problems with the minimum of supervision Adhere to all safety rules and practices established by Hilcorp Alaska. Conduct duties in a manner that provides for the utmost protection of the environment. Report all incidents and near-misses related to personnel, equipment and the environment. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Participate with other team members to develop ideas to control expenses, enhance safety and improve overall operations. Adhere to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Qualifications:
Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which includes 14 days on and 14 days off, and willing to hold over if needed for coverage. Require minimal supervision, direction, and training in the performance of routine and non-routine duties. Demonstrate an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipate and correct problems before they occur or before other parts of the facility are affected. Demonstrate the ability to routinely operate machinery/mechanical equipment unsupervised, while maintaining the facility in a safe, environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations. Demonstrate the ability to recognize when non-standard or non-routine conditions exist at the facility, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions to the problem. Suitable mathematic skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public. Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
