Job Description:

Overview:

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all parkrequirements related to painting. Prepares surfaces and appliespaint, varnish, stain, wall paper, and coatings to help beautifyand protect exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixturesto preserve buildings, equipment, midways and rides.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for routine painting and wall covering, buildingmaintenance works and checking with management and work ordersystem for day’s assignments and priorities. Check assigned areas and touch up all paint as needed on allbuildings, structures, carts, and signs. Operates a vehicle, trucks, forklift, pressure washer, sandblaster, spray equipment, air compressors, power lifts, Cushmancart, and two way radio. Prepare surfaces and remove previous paint to apply paints,stains, shading stains, and clear finishes. Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of the appropriatematerials. Apply wood finishing by suitably preparing surface. Determine, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls asrequested. Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spraymachines. Maintain records and logs of Volatile Organic Compound, sprayvolume, product used and time spent; submit finished work orders tosupervisor. Operate and maintain various power and manual hand tools andspray machines following all established PPE procedures and companypolicies. Interacts with various groups and individuals such as immediatesupervisor, other managers and staff, coworkers, guests, vendors,and contractors. Read blueprints and drawings of the project and structures forthe execution of assigned job. Order paint supplies and materials. Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area andperforms all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelinesand requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions tosupervision. Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights,weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in CedarFair’s attendance policies. Adheres to Cedar Fair’s Rules of Conduct including specificcostuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies andprocedures. Other duties may be assigned. –

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. 4-6 years or any equivalent combination of experience and/oreducation from which comparable knowledge. Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet. Ability to use a stepladder up to 40 feet. Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meetbusiness needs. Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Companypolicy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age orolder, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal,DMV,previous employment, education and personal references, perCompany policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, orprovinciallaw.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of themethods and techniques of sign painting, paints, varnishes, enamelsandother finishes, and of their uses in sign painting work. Abilityto understand and follow oral and written instructions and toprepare detailed layouts on the basis of rough sketches and generaldirections. –

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent. Relatedvocational training preferred. Graphic art, fabricating, andinstallingsigns and/or sign painting training preferred. –

Licenseor Certification:

Trade license or equivalent depending on trade.

Valid driver’s license required. –

Experience:

-Typically requires2-4 years of painting experience. Sign painting experience ifapplicable for the park –

Equivalency:

Directly related experienceor a combination of directly related education and experienceand/orcompetencies may be considered in place of the aboverequirements.
