Summary:
Fabricate furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and engineering drawings. Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells. Install drawer slides, hinges, latches, and hardware. Apply surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips. Operate stationary and handheld power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture components. Follow all safety protocols, 5S procedures, and housekeeping standards. Use personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interiors. Utilize the material tracking system to create part demands, track issues (squawks), and sign off on completed work. Collaborate with leads and experienced technicians to identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, reduce costs, minimize cycle time, and streamline labor using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years in cabinetmaking; aerospace industry experience preferred Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking tools, products, and processes. Working knowledge of aircraft inspection and process specifications preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be computer literate. Able to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift as required. Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
