Sets up and operates woodcutting, turning, shaping, molding, sanding, and surfacing machines used in manufacturing wooden parts for doors, window frames, cases, cabinets, and architectural millwork pieces, as guided by blueprints, mill tickets, and scale drawings Selects and installs cutting tools in a variety of woodworking machines Lubricates, adjusts, cleans, and maintains mill machines Checks the quality of lumber to be used in products Ability to read shop drawings May assist in preparing specifications for woodworking hardware and other materials Coordinate and work as a team Performs related duties as assigned Required Experience Self-motivated and willing to work and learn in a fast-paced environment Must be able to pass a background check and drug test Required Skills Physically able to lift, carry, move, and hold large pieces of wood and machinery for extended periods of time. Must be familiar with basic hand and power tools. Must have basic math skills and be able to take measurements. Must work efficiently, adhere to deadlines and communicate with supervisors. Must be able to work at heights and lift 100 lbs. Preferred Job Skills Qualifications Ability to carry out not only simple but complex oral and written instructions. Ability to properly use measuring tools. Ability to read and understand English sufficiently.
