Lumber Mill Sawyer Blue Ridge Lumber 320 Route 507, Tafton, PA 18464 Overview We are seeking a skilled Sawyer to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking and be proficient in using various tools and equipment to fabricate high-quality wood products. As a Sawyer, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that materials are cut and shaped accurately according to specifications. Duties Operate saws and other cutting equipment to cut wood materials to specified dimensions. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery for precise fabrication of wood products. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings using AutoCAD software. Collaborate with carpenters and other team members to build custom millwork solutions. Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times. Assist in training new employees on proper techniques and equipment usage. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sawyer or similar role in woodworking or carpentry. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and CNC programming. Familiarity with AutoCAD for reading blueprints and technical drawings is preferred. Ability to operate forklifts safely for material handling. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Commitment to safety practices and quality workmanship.
